About the conference

A practical One Health platform for Africa's next layer of preparedness.

The 2026 edition convenes researchers, health professionals, policymakers, security experts, environmental scientists, government representatives and development stakeholders to address emerging biological and health security challenges in Africa.

The 11th African Conference on One Health and Biosecurity is designed as a transdisciplinary platform for knowledge exchange, experience sharing and collaboration. It will explore practical approaches to mitigating biological threats and strengthening health security systems across the continent.

The 2026 conference focuses particularly on protecting rapidly growing African cities from emerging biological threats, using Lagos State as an important context for discussion and learning.

The conference provides an opportunity to exchange knowledge, share research and experiences, strengthen collaboration and explore practical approaches to mitigating biological threats.
